Colonial Lima & Traditional Cusco

Day 1: Lima

Arrival to the Lima Airport. Reception and transfer to your hotel by cab. Morning is free so that you may rest and regain your energy. Afternoon will be spent visiting the surrounding areas within the Peruvian capital. We will then go to the Parque de la Reserva and see its stunning water fountains with colorful light effects. Visiting this attraction will last up to three hours. Overnight in Lima

Day 2: Colonial Lima

After breakfast we will visit the main elements of Lima’s colonial heritage. Its historic center features many sumptuous palaces, iconic churches and remarkable plazas. This tour will last around 4 hours.

The afternoon is free to further explore the Miraflores district and the Larcomar mall. Overnight in Lima

Day 3: Cusco Walking Tour

Transfer from our Lima hotel to the airport for our flight to Cusco. Reception at the Cusco Airport and subsequent transfer to your hotel, so that you may get set up and ready for our following activities. In the afternoon we will visit the city on foot. Some of the key attractions and landmarks within the city include:

  • Qoricancha, the “Golden Temple” whose exquisite Inca stonework can still be seen today;
  • Inca Museum, where one can witness a tremendous collection of Inca artifacts;
  • Historic Center, which includes Cusco’s Plaza de Armas, or main square;
  • San Blas Neighborhood, one of the most picturesque barrios in the city due to its longstanding connection with arts and crafts.

Day 4: Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes

Full day tour with visits to Pisaq and Ollantaytambo. Both are ancient Inca towns protected by Peruvian law as Archaeological Parks in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will also visit the Pisaq market, famous for its traditional Andean products and colorful stalls, followed by lunch in Urubamba. At night we will take the train to the picturesque “Machupicchu town,” also known as Aguas Calientes. Reception at the train station and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Machupicchu Town

Day 5: Machupicchu

Tour in the Inca sanctuary of Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Starting time of this tour needs to be coordinated with your guide. You will be picked up at the hotel and taken to the bus station. From there we will take the bus ride to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World. You will have free time in the afternoon to explore on your own. You can also rest or take this time to visit the Inca Bridge or the Puerta del Sol. Once we’re back in Aguas Calientes, you can visit the museum or relax in the thermal baths. Overnight in Machupicchu Town

Day 6: Maras & Chinchero

Morning sees us return to Ollantaytambo and begin our tour en route to Cusco. We will visit Maras (Salt mine traditionally harvesting since pre-colonial times) and Chinchero, where you will enjoy a lunch meal, followed by a trip to the Colonial Church built upon an Inca palace. There you can also visit an old-fashioned textile workshop. After that we will return to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco

Day 7: Tipon & Saqsayhuaman

Morning is dedicated to visiting Tipon, with Inca ruins of the “Water Temple,” which once boasted of the most advanced pieces of hydraulic engineering executed by the Incas. Afternoon sees us visit four important Inca ruins: Saqsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay. Overnight in Cusco

Day 8: Museums & San Pedro Market

Free day in Cusco. We suggest you visit San Pedro’s traditional market and the town’s museums, such as the Chocolate Museum, the Machupicchu Museum or the Pero Colombino Art Museum.
